I recently had the great privilege of spending the day with Severine Demanet and Rodney Dunn at the Agrarian Kitchen in Lachlan along with some very enthusiastic participants. Photographing a day at the kitchen for their sponsors, Electrolux, I was so impressed with the world that Severine and Rodney have created at their atmospheric old school house in a beautiful valley an hour outside Hobart. Their philosophy of paddock to plate, local and seasonal and ultimately sustainable eating is right at the centre of Tasmania’s future. With the Agrarian Kitchen and others leading the way towards that future, things are looking pretty bright I reckon. Thanks to Severine and Rodney and everyone who helped out with the photos on the day.

Welcome to the Blink Blog! It’s the online home of Blink Photography, based in Tasmania and operated by photographer Chris Crerar. At the Blink Blog you’ll be able to keep up with the work I’m doing and the odd photographic adventure or two. Blink Photography is all about people… oh and some pets and even the occasional building or interior as well as wine and food… but it’s mostly about people. Photographing people has been my passion for over twenty years now and I imagine it will be for many more. I’ve always been fascinated and captivated by people’s stories and how to communicate them through photography. Twenty years in photojournalism, including ten with The Australian newspaper, gave me the opportunity to photograph people from all walks of life, in many different situations and develop a relaxed, natural style of photography. Continuing and developing that style with Blink Photography at your wedding, portrait session, function or business shoot is very exciting for me. If I can capture you at your best when you least expect it, or be a fly on the wall at your wedding, going about my photography barely noticed, I’ll know I’m getting it right. Whether we’re doing shots in the Blink studio or out on location my aim is to photograph you relaxed and at ease in front of the camera – to bring out your natural best. Photography should be fun and interesting, not stiff and formal… because if it is you’ll just blink too much!!
Watch out for my monthly "Blink and you'll miss it specials" ... but you'll have to be quick and make a booking because they'll be offered only for two days a month!
