Last weekend we took my beautiful Couta Boat Alicia into Launceston for the Wooden Boat Rally. Dad travelled up in his 60s Huon Pine riverboat Vixen and I chugged alongside without a hitch for almost 4 hours as we made our way up the Tamar from Deviot. As you can see from the photos the trip home wasn’t under our own steam! Alicia’s vintage Simplex engine made a point of telling me she needed some TLC by refusing to go for the entire boat rally. Luckily “cowboy” Rob and his fantastic Roslyn-C towed us home. Although it was a little like being castrated it was a very relaxing journey back down the Tamar… made even nicer with a good Pinot!
